You will lead the strategy, modernization, and operational excellence of our enterprise technology ecosystem. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this leadership role is responsible for overseeing the firm’s portfolio of business-critical applications, data architecture, document management platform, and data warehouse technologies. As a key member of the IT leadership team, you will partner with firm leadership and stakeholders across all departments to drive innovation, enhance business processes, improve reporting and analytics capabilities, and ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of enterprise systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a technology leader who thrives on building high-performing teams, advancing cloud and modernization initiatives, and delivering solutions that support organizational growth and exceptional client service. Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of enterprise applications professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional growth.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, including evaluation, selection, implementation, configuration, optimization, support, upgrades, and retirement.
  • Direct the administration, enhancement, and strategic development of the firm’s document management system, including workflow design, integrations, governance, and user adoption initiatives.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing evolution of the firm’s data warehouse and data architecture environment to support reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision making.
  • Partner with the CIO to develop and execute a multi-year enterprise applications strategy and technology roadmap aligned with firm objectives and future growth.
  • Drive modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, platform optimization, application rationalization, and technical debt reduction.
  • Manage complex application implementations, upgrades, migrations, and integrations while minimizing disruption to business operations.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, administrative leaders, and business teams to identify technology opportunities and deliver solutions that improve efficiency, service delivery, and user experience.
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor partnerships, negotiate contracts, evaluate new technology solutions, and monitor vendor performance against service level agreements.
  • Ensure enterprise applications meet security, compliance, privacy, and governance requirements while supporting business continuity objectives.
  • Assist in managing application-related budgets, software licensing, maintenance agreements, and project expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure system reliability, service quality, user satisfaction, and team effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain application documentation, policies, procedures, and knowledge resources to support operational consistency and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and support teams to ensure enterprise applications operate within a secure and resilient technical environment.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, legal industry trends, automation opportunities, and best practices to continuously enhance the firm’s technology capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience managing enterprise applications and leading complex technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise software implementations, upgrades, integrations, and modernization efforts.
  • Experience managing and developing technical teams, including coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise application architecture, systems integration, data workflows, and platform governance.
  • Hands-on expertise with legal technology platforms such as NetDocuments, Aderant, or comparable systems, including configuration, workflow development, and system administration.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data architecture, data modeling, and data governance principles.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, SaaS solutions, and modern enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL and an understanding of cybersecurity and application security best practices.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
