Job description
The Epic Application Manager for the Cadence team leads the applications and workflows that connect patients with both in-person and virtual outpatient care across Johns Hopkins Medicine. The team’s application portfolio includes Cadence, Referrals, Cheers CRM, and Hello World. The team also provides limited support for select Prelude and Welcome workflows in partnership with other front-end application teams. This portfolio supports scheduling visits and procedures, managing referrals, and facilitating patient outreach and communications, including automated appointment reminders and options to confirm or cancel appointments. The manager collaborates closely with other Health IT managers and application teams, Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, and clinical and operational leaders-including Chief Medical Information Officers and Access Physician Champions-to improve access to care and deliver coordinated solutions across applications.

Experience in ambulatory practice operations or supporting clinical applications such as EpicCare Ambulatory is particularly valuable. This manager leads a team of Application Analysts and Application Leads, fostering their technical expertise, professional growth, and leadership development through coaching, mentorship, and meaningful development opportunities. Success requires an adaptable leader who builds consensus across multiple physician groups and navigates complex organizational relationships to move priorities forward. The manager brings curiosity about emerging Epic capabilities and healthcare technology, translating new opportunities-including generative AI and predictive analytics-into practical improvements for patients and staff.
