Job description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced 1st Line Helpdesk Engineer to join a leading UK-based Managed Services Provider (MSP)., As a 1st Line Helpdesk Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for clients experiencing IT issues, providing high-quality technical support across a range of Microsoft technologies. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues remotely and in person, escalating more complex problems where required, and ensuring a professional and customer-focused service at all times., * Provide 1st Line IT support to clients via telephone, email and remote support
- Act as the first point of contact for technical issues and queries
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues
- Resolve technical problems wherever possible, escalating more complex issues when required
- Support users across Microsoft technologies, including Windows and Office 365
- Provide support across Active Directory, Group Policy and Microsoft 365 environments
- Maintain accurate IT documentation and knowledge bases
- Deliver a professional, customer-focused support service both remotely and in person
- Maintain clear records of support requests and resolutions
- Participate in an on-call rota providing 24-hour technical support
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a 1st Line Support, Helpdesk or Service Desk environment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good working knowledge of Windows 7, 10 and 11
- Experience supporting Microsoft technologies, including:
- Active Directory
- Group Policy
- Office 365, including Exchange, OneDrive and SharePoint
- Azure, with a basic understanding of cloud environments
- Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing, DHCP and DNS
- Experience working with antivirus solutions such as Sophos
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
- A customer-focused approach with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality support
