Job description

e are seeking a GUI Test Automation Engineer to join a project team supporting the validation of a complex software application. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated user interface tests using Robot Framework, helping to ensure software releases are fully validated before deployment. T his role would suit an individual with early-career experience in software testing, quality assurance, or test automation who enjoys understanding how applications behave from an end-user perspective. The successful candidate will work with an established testing infrastructure and receive support from experienced engineers who have already developed the required tooling and test environment.   • evelop automated GUI test scripts using Robot Framework. C

  • reate and maintain regression test suites for software releases. A

  • nalyse application user interfaces and identify expected behaviours for test validation. E

  • xecute automated test campaigns and document results. I

  • nvestigate and report defects identified through testing activities. W

  • ork closely with software engineers and technical leads to understand system functionality. S

  • upport continuous improvement of automated testing coverage. M

  • aintain test documentation and ensure traceability of test cases. C

  • ontribute to release validation activities prior to deployment. A

  • ssist in refining and enhancing existing test automation processes. S

Requirements

  • nderstanding of software testing principles and quality assurance practices. E

  • xperience with automated testing tools or frameworks. A

  • bility to analyse software behaviour and define expected outcomes. S

  • trong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. G

  • ood communication and documentation skills. C

  • omfortable working within a collaborative engineering environment. B

  • asic scripting or programming knowledge. D

ESIREABLE: E

  • xperience with Robot Framework. E

  • xposure to GUI or end-to-end application testing. F

  • amiliarity with Python. E

  • xperience of test case design and test execution. U

  • nderstanding of software release and validation processes. K

  • nowledge of defect tracking and test management tools. E

  • xperience working within an Agile development environment. E

XPERIENCE: I

  • deally 12-24 months’ experience in software testing, QA, test automation, or a related technical role. C

  • andidates from apprenticeship, graduate-entry, or junior engineering backgrounds will be considered. P

  • ractical experience creating or executing automated test scripts is desirable. E

  • xperience of GUI testing would be advantageous but is not essential. A

  • bility to become productive quickly within an established project team. N
