Job description
We are recruiting for a part-time Data Officer to join a busy 11-18 secondary school in East London. Working closely with the Data Manager, you will help maintain the school’s data systems and ensure that accurate, reliable information is available to support teaching, learning and strategic decision-making.
This varied position would suit someone with experience in a school-data or analytical role who is confident managing records, producing reports and supporting colleagues with data systems.
What you’ll be doing
- Maintaining accurate and complete student records
- Conducting regular data-quality checks and resolving discrepancies
- Supporting statutory returns, including the School Census
- Assisting with assessment, tracking and data-collection cycles
- Producing and distributing student reports to parents and carers
- Supporting student timetable administration
- Helping departments maintain systems for monitoring student progress
- Providing first-line support to staff using school data systems
- Ensuring information is managed securely and in line with GDPR
- Supporting admissions and data functions during busy periods
Requirements
- At least one year’s experience in a similar role
- Previous experience analysing and presenting data clearly
- Strong ICT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Excellent accuracy, organisation and time management
- The ability to work independently and use initiative
- Confidence managing competing priorities and deadlines
- A collaborative and flexible approach
Knowledge of SIMS or another school Management Information System would be advantageous. Experience with school admissions or systems such as SISRA Analytics and Edulink One would also be beneficial.
