Job description
To strengthen the Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity IT team, we are looking for a System Administrator. The team works both remotely and from our offices in Amsterdam and Eindhoven. Our IT organization is characterized by numerous internally hosted and/or developed applications used by employees worldwide, which must be both maintained and efficiently further developed.
This position requires a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and an MIVD B security clearance. If you do not yet have these, a screening process will follow after signing the employment contract. You may not start in this role until your screening has been successfully completed.
As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for:
- The performance of IT systems and equipment;
- Network security, intrusion detection, monitoring, and auditing;
- Management of virtual environments based on VMware and Proxmox;
- Management of high-security (virtual) servers based on Linux and Windows;
- Second-level user support for Linux, macOS, and Windows systems;
- Design and management of office automation and IT systems, including secure (internal and external) communication, backups, and disaster recovery;
- High-security mandatory access controls;
- ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and other data protection certifications;
- Advising management on the development of our own IT environment., * Working within a highly skilled team: cybersecurity doesn’t stop at national borders, and neither does our way of working. Requirements
- At least 5 years of work experience with knowledge of various operating systems; Linux, Windows, Mac OS, and BSD are a plus.
- Knowledge of VPN technology;
- Relevant IT knowledge, possibly supported by a relevant IT degree, supplemented by relevant training and certifications;
- Programming skills to support IT processes, experience with data centers, and knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Proxmox;
- Experience with AWS and Kubernetes is a plus;
- Knowledge of technical system hardening, network security, data protection, and the development of protocols in these areas;
- A hands-on mindset;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in Dutch and English.
