Job description
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer you’ll be a hands-on contributor on our core platform, working closely with our Lead Engineer and a external development team that uses AI tools to move fast without sacrificing quality. Your focus is shipping features at velocity whilst holding a high bar on quality through thorough testing and code review. You’ll be a strong voice in technical discussions and a reliable pair of hands the team can lean on, without carrying the management load.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Technical Delivery and Speed: Build and ship features across our core learner and content platforms (React/Node.js/NestJS), taking work from spec through to production
- AI-Driven Development: Use AI tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) to accelerate your work, but own the validation, making sure code quality, security and performance meet our standards
- Code Quality: Follow and help uphold our engineering practices, contribute to code reviews, and write automated tests so we don’t accumulate technical debt
- Collaboration and Support: Work alongside the Lead Engineer and other engineers, pair when useful, share what you know, and help less experienced colleagues get unstuck
- Technical Input: Contribute to design and architecture discussions for new features, flagging trade-offs and suggesting pragmatic solutions, * Pragmatic: You make sensible trade-offs between perfect and good enough, always asking what matters most for the user
- Ownership: You take responsibility for the work you pick up and see it through without needing constant oversight
- Collaborative: You give and take feedback well, enjoy sharing knowledge, and are happy supporting others when they need it
- Communication: You explain technical decisions clearly and work well with product and design
What success looks like
- Shipping at velocity: You’re consistently delivering significant features each sprint to a high standard, without adding technical debt
- Quality maintained: Your code is well tested, your reviews are thoughtful, and you help catch bad patterns before they land
- Trusted contributor: Within 3 months the Lead Engineer can hand you complex work with confidence and you’re a go-to person for other engineers
- Technical input: You’ve contributed meaningfully to a handful of technical decisions that made the codebase simpler or faster to work in
- AI integration: You’re using AI tools effectively and reliably validating what they produce, and helping the team do the same
Next steps
Please note that, as a first round, we will ask all candidates to complete a technical test, upon completion of this, there will be an interview with the CEO.
Pay: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
