Job description
We are looking for an organised, proactive and security-conscious Cybersecurity Coordinator to support the delivery of our organisation-wide cybersecurity programme.
Cybersecurity is fundamental to business resilience. This newly created role will provide the operational coordination needed to ensure that security training, communications, governance activities, testing, monitoring and remediation actions are delivered consistently and followed through to completion.
Working across people, processes and technology, you will connect our cybersecurity strategy with the practical day-to-day activities that help protect our organisation, employees, customers and information.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in cybersecurity, IT governance, risk, compliance or technology coordination who wants to develop a broader career in cybersecurity.
Summary of main tasks
- Coordinate annual and ad hoc cybersecurity awareness training.
- Deliver monthly awareness themes and internal campaigns.
- Monitor training completion and follow up outstanding requirements.
- Create clear employee communications about phishing, passwords, data handling and emerging threats.
- Support phishing simulations and associated reporting.
- Assist with cybersecurity activities linked to employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Help promote a positive and proactive cybersecurity culture across the organisation.
- Maintain cybersecurity action plans, trackers, risk logs and supporting documentation.
- Administer cybersecurity policies, standards and review schedules.
- Support audits, governance reviews and evidence-gathering activities.
- Track actions arising from incidents, audits and security assessments.
- Support supplier security reviews and due-diligence questionnaires.
- Coordinate documentation for customer assurance requests and relevant certifications.
- Help ensure cybersecurity records are accurate, current and accessible.
- Coordinate penetration-testing activities and track resulting actions.
- Maintain records of vulnerabilities and security findings.
- Monitor remediation progress against agreed owners and target dates.
- Follow up overdue actions and escalate delays or exceptions.
- Coordinate external cybersecurity partners and specialist providers.
- Produce regular vulnerability and remediation reports.
- Support security monitoring and initial triage activities under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Assist with endpoint, email, identity and access-security administration.
- Support access reviews and the recording of security exceptions.
- Escalate suspicious activity and potential cybersecurity incidents.
- Assist with backup, recovery and incident-response readiness checks.
- Help maintain operational cybersecurity processes, checklists and records.
- Prepare monthly cybersecurity dashboards and management updates.
- Monitor agreed cybersecurity measures and service levels.
- Report on areas such as training, vulnerabilities, incidents, audit actions and policy reviews.
- Highlight overdue actions, recurring issues and areas requiring management attention.
- Support the preparation of cybersecurity updates for senior management.
Requirements
- You should have a relevant qualification, professional certification or equivalent practical experience in cybersecurity, information technology, risk, compliance or a related discipline.
- Qualifications such as CompTIA Security+, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, a BCS qualification or a relevant Microsoft security certification would be beneficial, but they are not essential where you can demonstrate appropriate knowledge and experience., * Experience supporting cybersecurity awareness or phishing-simulation programmes.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management, penetration testing or remediation tracking.
- Experience supporting audits, certifications or customer assurance activities.
- Exposure to endpoint security, email security, identity management or security monitoring.
- Knowledge of recognised guidance or frameworks such as NIST, Cyber Essentials or UK National Cyber Security Centre guidance.
- Experience working with external technology or cybersecurity providers.
- Experience producing dashboards, performance indicators or management reports.
- Experience in logistics, transport, supply chain, warehousing or another operationally complex organisation.
