Job description

As a Data Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting the migration of Local Land Charges data from local authorities into HM Land Registry’s digital Local Land Charges Register. Working as part of a supportive national team, you will help transform paper-based records into accurate digital information, ensuring high-quality data is available for customers across England and Wales., The Local Land Charges Register was launched by HM Land Registry to modernise and centralise Local Land Charges information. To support the migration of data from local authorities onto the digital register, we work collaboratively with local authority partners to access, extract, capture and improve data quality.

As a Data Administrator, you will work in both HM Land Registry offices and local authority settings, carrying out a range of administrative and data-focused activities. You will help scan and digitise records, input and validate data, support the creation of spatial information and work alongside local authority colleagues to help resolve data issues.

This role may include regular travel across England and Wales. You should be comfortable travelling nationally and, on occasion, staying away from home during the working week., As a Data Administrator, you will:

  • Provide administrative support to Local Authority Delivery Managers and colleagues across the Local Land Charges Programme.
  • Bulk scan local authority paper records in line with established procedures and quality standards.
  • Input Local Land Charges information from scanned images to create accurate digital records.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of spatial data linked to Local Land Charges records.
  • Work closely with local authority colleagues to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Identify, investigate and escalate complex data issues to relevant programme teams.
  • Liaise, under supervision, with suppliers and stakeholders to help coordinate solutions to data-related issues.
  • Travel to local authority offices to undertake scanning, data input and data cleansing activities.
  • Ensure data is handled accurately, securely and in accordance with agreed processes.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of programme objectives through effective teamwork and collaboration., We’ll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

  • Delivering at Pace, You will also be asked to complete a Technical Statement section (in no more than 250 words) and this should be used to outline your skills for the role and detail how you meet the essential technical skills criteria listed below:
  • The ability when completing data entry, to maintain accuracy, whilst also working at pace.

Requirements

Desirable Technical Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical skill and knowledge of mapping and spatial data

Essential Experience:

  • Ability to work methodically and have high attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise personal workload effectively to meet challenging and changeable deadlines.
  • Ability to react positively to change according to Programme priorities
  • Ability to respond to gaps, errors and irregularities in information to resolve problems, but also know when to escalate a problem and ask for help
  • Good level of IT literacy and PC skills including use of Outlook, Word and Excel

Desirable Experience:

  • This role will involve regular travel and although not essential, holding a driving licence would be desirable to enable you to drive a hire car., * The ability when completing data entry, to maintain accuracy, whilst also working at pace., This vacancy is using Success Profiles , and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths, Experience and Technical skills.
