Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing our database systems to ensure high performance, security, and availability. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with relational databases, data management security, and disaster recovery architecture. Your expertise will support the organization’s data integrity and operational efficiency across various platforms, including cloud databases and on-premises solutions., * Manage and maintain relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server to ensure optimal performance and reliability

  • Design and implement scalable database architecture solutions that support high availability and disaster recovery requirements
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and PL/SQL scripts to enhance system functionality
  • Perform database tuning and system troubleshooting to improve uptime and response times
  • Implement robust backup, recovery, and data migration strategies to safeguard organizational data assets
  • Monitor database health through system performance analysis and conduct routine maintenance tasks
  • Collaborate with development teams to design efficient data models and support database development initiatives
  • Manage database security protocols to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access or breaches
  • Automate routine administrative tasks using Bash scripting or other shell scripting languages

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server
  • Strong knowledge of high availability architecture including database clustering and replication techniques
  • Hands-on experience with database backup and recovery procedures, disaster recovery planning, and data recovery processes
  • Expertise in system tuning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting across Linux environments
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), T-SQL, Shell Scripting, and ETL tools like SSIS for data integration tasks
  • Familiarity with cloud databases and managing distributed data systems
  • Demonstrated ability to design efficient data models supporting scalable applications
  • Knowledge of data management security best practices to ensure compliance with organizational policies
  • Experience working on database architecture projects involving system upgrades or migrations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to technical troubleshooting support
