Job description
- Data Management: Inputting, updating, and maintaining spatial and non-spatial databases and process flows.
- Map Creation: Producing standard, high-quality data driven reports with analysis of outputs.
- Quality Control: Checking datasets for errors, identifying missing attributes, and cleaning up geographic features to maintain database integrity.
- Act as a day-to-day point of contact for clients via email, meetings, and the support desk, ensuring queries are triaged and resolved promptly.
- Oversee uploading, allocation, and monitoring of collected imagery to analysis teams, ensuring completeness, correct metadata, and timely outputs.
- Maintain accurate, current project documentation (plans, trackers, meeting notes, status reports) and file structures., This paid position offers an engaging environment where your technical skills will directly impact real-world projects while supporting your professional growth.
Requirements
Essential
- Demonstrable experience with GIS/mapping tools and spatial data concepts.
- Proficient in SQL.
- Experience working in a structured project environment with schedules and KPIs.
- Strong organisation, prioritisation, and time management across multiple concurrent projects.
- Clear written and verbal communication; confident running structured client meetings.
- Detail orientation with the ability to interpret data outputs and spot inconsistencies.
- Proactive problem solving; anticipates risks and drives timely resolution.
- Proficient IT Skills including use of Microsoft Office.
- Integrity, ownership mindset, and continuous-improvement orientation.
- Must have literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE standard.
Desirable
Experience in the Highways sector and/or working with local authorities and public-sector frameworks.
Competence with collaboration and project management tools (e.g., Slack, Monday.com) and support desk platforms.
