Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to join our product-led delivery team, building high-quality software that delivers great outcomes for Westfield Health and our customers. You’ll deliver software that follows the engineering principles set by your Technical Lead, with support from Senior Software Engineers in the team. Our product team works closely with Engineers to define the scope and outcomes for each solution, and you’ll play a key role in talking through different approaches and the trade-offs behind each design., * Build reliable, resilient software solutions, using observability tooling to support running and monitoring in production.

  • Deliver new features and changes incrementally, through small, regular deployments.
  • Validate new and existing functionality using multiple automated testing approaches.
  • Design solutions that deliver measurable value to the business and users, in line with business objectives.
  • Propose alternative technical approaches when a solution hits a challenge or obstacle.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve the technology estate and how change is delivered.
  • Communicate complex technical detail clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support the growth of junior engineers, and challenge peers to strive for excellence and maximise value for customers and the business.

Requirements

  • A proven track record in full-stack software development, with a strong grasp of a C#/.NET or TypeScript stack.
  • Comfortable working in a cloud-first environment, using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Skilled in an automation-first approach, particularly automated testing.
  • Well-versed in DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling.
  • Familiar with Agile methodology and planning tools.
  • It’s a bonus if you’ve worked with HTTP-based applications, AngularJS, Next.js, AWS, CDK or Serverless.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders as part of a product-led delivery team.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving; tackling challenges head-on and finding solutions that balance multiple priorities.
