Job description

You’ll manage a mixed portfolio: several substantial web application and AI builds alongside a large established base of WordPress clients on ongoing support. You’ll be the main point of contact for your clients, coordinating our in-house developers, designer and freelancers, and working directly with the founder and directors.

This is not a coordinator role. We’re not looking for someone to relay messages between clients and developers. We need someone technically fluent enough to lead a scoping conversation, challenge an unrealistic request, and explain a technical constraint to a non-technical client without a developer in the room., * Owning end-to-end delivery of website and web application builds, from kickoff through launch and post-launch support

  • Managing our established WordPress client base: ad hoc support, change requests, updates and maintenance across a large portfolio of live sites
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for your clients: status calls, expectation management, and the occasional difficult conversation
  • Translating client requirements into clear, actionable specifications for developers
  • Spotting scope creep early and raising it through the right commercial channel rather than absorbing it
  • Planning, sequencing and tracking work in ClickUp with clear visibility of timelines, dependencies and blockers
  • Running QA and UAT cycles, coordinating launches, and managing post-launch snagging
  • Coordinating across developers, design and the wider marketing team, where web projects intersect with SEO and paid media
  • Supporting the sales team on pre-sale scoping, estimates and proposals
  • Reporting proactively on project status, risks and resourcing to the directors, Lucrative Rewards & Recognition: At Atomic, we wholeheartedly believe in rewarding our team for their hard work and achievements. End-of-year bonuses, salary reviews, and performance incentives reflect our commitment to recognising and nurturing talent.

Cutting-Edge Technologies: You’ll manage projects built with the latest AI-assisted development tooling and modern frameworks, keeping you at the forefront of how digital projects are delivered.

Professional Development & Growth: We actively invest in our people. Regular training sessions, workshops, and opportunities to attend industry events enable you to grow your skill set and elevate your career within the agency.

Real Ownership: You own your projects and your client relationships. No layers of approval between you and the work, and your recommendations get backed.

Join Atomic Today

If you are a driven, experienced digital project manager looking to join an agency that values expertise, innovation, and collective success, Atomic Digital Marketing is the place for you. Your career will flourish in a supportive atmosphere that encourages professional growth, collaboration, and creativity., * Which AI-assisted development tools have you worked with or around (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex), and in what context?

  • What is your notice period?
  • How many client projects have you typically managed at the same time?
  • Briefly describe your experience managing WordPress sites - builds, support, or both.

Requirements

You’ll need:

  • 3+ years in a digital agency, web development agency or comparable client-services environment, managing website or web application builds for external clients, including multiple concurrent projects rather than a single product or internal roadmap
  • Demonstrable technical fluency: comfortable discussing hosting, DNS, CMS platforms, APIs, integrations and modern JavaScript frameworks, and able to constructively interrogate a developer’s estimate. You don’t need to be a developer; you need genuine understanding
  • Strong WordPress experience: genuinely confident managing WordPress builds and support work, comfortable discussing themes, plugins, hosting, updates and site maintenance with clients and developers. A significant part of this role is running our WordPress support portfolio, so this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have
  • Familiarity with modern AI development tooling (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Replit or similar) and an informed view on where AI-assisted builds accelerate delivery and where they introduce risk
  • A working understanding of version control and deployment workflows (branching, pull requests, staging vs production), enough to run UAT and manage launch days with confidence
  • Strong, confident client communication, written and verbal, including delivering unwelcome news and holding a boundary on scope politely but firmly
  • Natural organisation: systems-minded, detail-oriented, reliable follow-through
  • A genuine commitment to project management as a career. This role is for someone whose ambition is delivery and client relationships, not a stepping stone into another discipline
  • Proficiency with project management platforms (ClickUp, Jira, Asana, Monday or similar)
  • Exposure to commercial conversations: estimating, change orders, scope discussions
  • UK-based with the right to work in the UK

Bonus points for:

  • Experience delivering AI-enabled products, or projects with evolving scope
  • Hands-on exposure to Next.js, React, Supabase, Vercel or headless CMS platforms
  • Working knowledge of SEO, analytics and paid media fundamentals
  • Pre-sale experience: scoping workshops, estimates, written proposals
  • Experience with international clients across time zones
  • Familiarity with QA practices: accessibility, performance, cross-device testing
  • Experience refining delivery processes, not just operating within them
  • A formal PM qualification (Agile, Scrum, PRINCE2), though real delivery experience counts for far more, * agency-side web project management : 3 years (required)
