Job description

  • Install, maintain, test and commission electronic security and communications systems.
  • Install and terminate structured network and communications cabling.
  • Configure and fault-find IP-based systems and network equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify system faults efficiently and professionally.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work.
  • Work with IP CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, ANPR and associated technologies.
  • Complete installation and service documentation accurately.
  • Interpret technical drawings, diagrams and system specifications.
  • Carry out testing and commissioning of installed systems.
  • Work professionally and courteously on customer premises.
  • Liaise with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Participate in the company’s on-call rota.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout the North West and other areas when required.

Requirements

The role will involve working across a variety of commercial customer sites, carrying out installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning and fault-finding of electronic security and communications systems.

Ideally, you will already have experience within the electronic security industry.

However, we are also interested in candidates from related technical backgrounds who have strong practical engineering skills and the right attitude to learn.

If you have experience in IT networking, structured cabling, telecommunications, electrical engineering, electronic engineering or a similar technical discipline, but don’t have extensive security systems experience, we would still like to hear from you., Experienced Security Engineers

We would particularly welcome applications from engineers with experience in:

  • Electronic security systems
  • Intruder alarm systems
  • IP CCTV
  • Access control
  • ANPR
  • Networked security systems
  • Installation, commissioning and fault-finding
  • Service and maintenance

Experience with systems such as Galaxy / Honeywell would be advantageous.

Related Technical Engineers

Security industry experience is desirable but is not essential for the right candidate., * Strong practical and technical ability.

  • Experience in an engineering, IT, networking, communications, electrical, electronic or security environment.
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional approach with good customer service skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of workmanship.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota.

Relevant qualifications would be advantageous but we are more interested in practical ability, attitude and willingness to learn than qualifications alone.
