OverviewLead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Drive technical excellence, foster a culture of innovation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.ResponsibilitiesLead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals.Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management, and task prioritization to ensure successful delivery within scope, time, and budget.Mentor and support team members’ professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.Evaluate and enhance engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and streamline workflows.Collaborate with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure high-quality delivery.Manage a business function, providing significant input to function-wide strategic initiatives and influencing policy and procedures.Coordinate resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for a significant sub-function.Foster compliance, ensure regulations are observed, and maintain adherence to relevant processes.Maintain a broad understanding of industry theories and practices within the discipline, and stay informed about external market developments.Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve complex or sensitive problems.Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.Act as a principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other business divisions.Serve as a spokesperson for the function and business division when appropriate.Demonstrate clear leadership behaviours

Requirements

(Listen, Energise, Align, Develop) and adhere to the Barclays Values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship.Qualifications & Experience5+ years experience in a technology leadership role designing and developing online, internet-facing channels.Proven ability to define and execute internet channel strategies aligned to the corporate banking segment.Track record of managing highly utilized critical client-facing applications that demand ‘always-on’ designs.Experience owning end-to-end digital client journeys across online applications, ensuring consistency, usability, and premium user experience.Ability to lead cross-functional teams including product managers, UX/UI designers, and senior online platform and application developers.Strong understanding of emerging digital trends and technologies.Operational lead experience for day-to-day effectiveness of online platforms, including corporate websites, online portals, and self-service platforms.Ability to define and prioritise product roadmaps, feature enhancements, and technical upgrades in an enterprise environment.Collaboration with Technology, Security, Service Management, and Product Teams.Experience in managing external partners, vendors, and agencies to support technology solution development.Leadership & Business AlignmentAll senior leaders are expected to demonstrate a clear set of leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver at consistently excellent standards.
