IT Engineer

You’ll be a first and second-line point of contact for our clients - troubleshooting PCs, networks and Microsoft 365 environments, keeping endpoints patched and protected, and quietly making sure cybersecurity and compliance boxes get ticked before anyone has to ask.

No two days look the same. One morning you’re untangling an Active Directory permissions mess, the next you’re on-site swapping out a switch, and by Friday you’re helping a client pass their Cyber Essentials assessment.

You’ll work closely with our Managing Director and the wider Group - including our Weboss and Dragon Defence brands - so there’s plenty of room to get involved beyond your job title if that interests you.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Handling day-to-day IT support tickets across a range of client environments - Windows, Microsoft 365, and everything in between

Configuring and troubleshooting networks, servers and Active Directory

We’re Steer IT Solutions, a Cardiff-based MSP supportingnetworks, endpoints, cloud and cybersecurity for businesses across the UK. We need someone sharp, calm under pressure, and genuinely curious about how systems break - and how to stop them breaking again., Managing cloud services and endpoint protection, including estate-wide software rollouts and clean-ups

Talking to clients directly - explaining problems (and fixes) in plain English, not jargon

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

A troubleshooter’s brain - you dig into the actual cause, not just the symptom

Security awareness - you get why cybersecurity and compliance matter

Clear communication - you can explain a technical issue to a non-technical client without losing the will to live

Nice to have: PowerShell or similar scripting

Nice to have: exposure to Power Apps, Power Automate or Dataverse
