Job description
- Supporting Microsoft 365, desktops, laptops, servers and networks
- Troubleshooting broadband, connectivity, VoIP and general IT issues
- Supporting Microsoft Intune and other cloud platforms
- Managing users, permissions, devices and passwords
- Resolving Service Desk tickets from start to finish
- Speaking directly with clients to understand and resolve issues
- Working with third-party suppliers where needed
- Keeping documentation and tickets accurate and up to date
- Identifying opportunities to improve client systems
- Working with colleagues on more complex issues and projects
We encourage our engineers to get to know clients properly. Where possible, we’d rather you pick up the phone and have a conversation than hide behind email.
Requirements
You’ll need:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar IT support role
- Good Microsoft 365 knowledge
- A good understanding of networking
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- A reliable, calm and friendly approach
- A genuine interest in IT and learning new technologies
- Full driving licence and access to your own car
Experience with Datto RMM, Autotask, IT Glue, DNS, broadband, Ubiquiti UniFi, Zyxel or relevant IT qualifications would be useful, but isn’t essential., * How many years of experience do you have in an IT support, helpdesk or service desk role?

About the company
Forth Tech is looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our small, friendly team in Dunfermline.
This is a varied support role where you’ll work across Microsoft 365, servers, networking, Intune, broadband, VoIP, cybersecurity services, AI tools and more. You’ll support clients across a wide range of industries including legal, construction, charity, sport and healthcare.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, speaking with clients and learning new technology. You don’t need to know every system we use - training will be provided.
