Job description
We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer (Band 2) to provide onsite IT support and lifecycle services for end-user computing devices. The role focuses on IMACD activities, break-fix troubleshooting, and ensuring employees are fully equipped and supported with reliable technology. The successful candidate will work closely with end users, IT teams, and asset management functions to maintain high service standards and compliance., IMACD & Device Lifecycle Management
- Perform Install, Move, Add, Change, and Deinstall (IMACD) activities for IT equipment.
- Install, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals.
- Deinstall and recover devices during employee offboarding and refresh programs.
- Coordinate device relocation and workspace changes across office sites.
End-User Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide onsite break-fix support and hardware replacement for faulty devices.
- Deliver floor-walk and TechBar support to assist users with day-to-day IT issues.
- Conduct post-installation checks to ensure devices are fully operational and users are ready to work.
- Support new joiner onboarding, including device setup and initial configuration.
Asset & Compliance Management
- Maintain and update asset inventory and CMDB records accurately.
- Follow organisational IT standards, security policies, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure documentation, reporting, and progress updates are completed on time.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, * Experience in desktop support, field services, or onsite IT support roles.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and peripheral setup.
- Hands-on experience with IMACD activities and device lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with asset management tools and CMDB updates.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently in an onsite environment and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT support certifications (CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or equivalent).
- Experience supporting enterprise environments and corporate security policies.
- Knowledge of ticketing systems and documentation processes.
