Application Designer

We are looking for an experienced Application Designer to design, develop and maintain our web and mobile applications and website designs. You will own the design of our applications from start to finish: gathering requirements, planning how each application works, designing its interfaces and user experience, and working with developers to deliver it. This is a broad role covering application design, interface (UI) design, user experience (UX) and web design., * Work with internal and external clients to gather and define requirements for web and mobile applications and websites.

• Turn business and user requirements into application designs, including features, user flows, screen layouts and functionality.
• Design the structure and information architecture of applications so they are easy to use and navigate.
• Research users through interviews, surveys, analytics and usability testing, and use the findings to improve application designs.
• Create user journeys, wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity designs (Figma or similar).
• Present design options and concepts to clients and stakeholders, and refine them based on feedback.
• Design application and web interfaces, including layout, graphics, animation and functionality, for maximum visual effectiveness and ease of use.
• Build and maintain a consistent design system and component library across all applications.
• Write clear design specifications and work closely with developers during build, helping with front-end implementation (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) where needed.
• Test, review and improve live applications and websites using analytics and user feedback.
• Keep up to date with new design tools, techniques and industry trends.

Nice to Have

• Motion design or animation skills.
• Adobe Illustration.

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Design, Interaction Design, Digital Design or a related subject, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years experience in an application design, web design, UI or UX design role.
• A strong portfolio showing web and/or mobile application design work.
• Understanding of how web and mobile applications are built.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
