Job description

As a Wunderwriter, you’ll play a key role in supporting SchemeServe customers by working across our three dynamic sub-groups within the Wunderwriting department:

  • Scheme Builders: Dedicated to designing and building new insurance schemes on SchemeServe.
  • Post Live: Handling support requests related to ongoing scheme management, including updates and major changes.
  • Obsessive Support: Providing quick, day-to-day support - such as uploading documentation or adding a new user.

Whether you’re helping create new schemes, managing complex updates, or resolving quick support requests, you’ll be at the heart of enabling our clients’ success., You start the morning by setting priorities for your current project - whether building a new scheme, implementing a major update, or resolving diverse support requests.

After a quick team call with your fellow Wunderwriters, you may then focus on a scheme-building task, troubleshoot a Post Live ticket, or handle a quick Obsessive Support request.

Late morning means it’s time for Elevenses -our Thursday ritual for non-work chat and optional clubs (Art and card games today!).

In the afternoon, you dive into rating logic - reviewing the underwriting guide and translating it into a rating file using Excel.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Underwriting?, Know your way around Word and Excel - no need to be a tech expert, but you’re comfortable with everyday tasks.

️ Have a solid foundation in insurance - you possess experience in the insurance industry, understand its nuances, and talk the same language as our customers.

Prefer problem-solving over selling insurance - challenges excite you and you enjoy working with insurance products and platforms but prefer problem-solving to selling policies.

Thrive on teamwork and relationships - you enjoy working with people and building strong connections with both teammates and customers.

Aren’t looking for a developer role - if coding isn’t your thing but you love working with digital tools, this is the perfect fit!

Have a keen eye for improvement - you take pleasure in fine-tuning processes to achieve optimal results and efficiency.

Seek to understand the ‘why’ - you’re not just a ‘tick-the-box’ person but value understanding the reasons behind your actions.

Are naturally curious - you love learning new things, asking questions, and figuring out better ways to do things.

Are dependable - people can count on you to follow through, stay organized and keep things running smoothly.

Stay authentic - you bring your true self to work, communicate openly and value honesty in your interactions.

  • Work swiftly and efficiently - you get things done without unnecessary delays, balancing speed with attention to detail.

Are daring enough to challenge the norm - you’re not afraid to speak up, bring fresh ideas and try new approaches., Essential:

  • Background in insurance or underwriting (at least 2yrs+).
  • UK-based (although the position is fully remote).

Nice to have (but not essential!):

  • Experience as a Configuration Analyst or Business/Systems Analyst for SaaS insurance software solutions (no coding required).
  • Experience working with different facets of insurance support and scheme management.

About the company

At its heart, SchemeServe is all about making insurance simple. Our platform helps insurance brokers, MGAs, and insurers design, build, and manage their own insurance products (or ‘schemes’) with ease. Some of our customers build their schemes themselves, while others rely on our expert Wunderwriters-which is where you come in!

We’ve always been a fully remote company, but we still love getting together. Twice a year, we meet in person for Team Retreats - one in March and another in September. These are all about sharing ideas, relaxing, and building real connections. Past retreats have featured everything from archery tag and murder mystery nights to inflatable obstacle courses and axe throwing-so expect some fun!

We’re big on personal growth and love to see our team pushing themselves to learn and develop new skills. Need books, mentoring, or professional development opportunities? We’ve got you covered.

Plus, we offer flexible working, paid days to volunteer for causes you care about, a friendly and supportive team and a relaxed but ambitious company culture.
