ISP Database Administrator

We’re recruiting an ISP DBA Interim to support Council’s IT Services team. This role is focused on database administration, ensuring systems are maintained, configured, and developed to meet agreed service levels. It’s ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to deliver excellent customer service in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting, maintaining, configuring, and developing database technologies
• Following service management processes and contributing to continuous improvement
• Using IT service management tools to capture data and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborating with colleagues to investigate and resolve system/service issues
• Providing expert advice on new technologies and service improvements
• Supervising external technical consultancy when required
• Developing collaborative working relationships and guiding less experienced colleagues
• Managing access to confidential and sensitive information in compliance with legislation (DPA, FOI, Child Protection Act)
• Ensuring compliance with council policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Deputising for the Senior ISP or Database Manager when required, * Opportunity to work in a specialist database administration role within a large council

Do you have experience in ITIL?, Do you have a BTEC?, * At least 1 year’s experience in an ICT Database environment with a related BTEC National Level qualification in ICT

• OR 2 years’ experience in an ICT Database environment with relevant skills
• Strong knowledge of implementing, supporting, and developing database technologies
• Familiarity with the ITIL framework and IT service management tools
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative working abilities, * ISP database admin: 2 years (required)
