Job description

I am hiring an OT Security Engineer on behalf of an international renewable-energy company delivering end-to-end solutions for sustainable energy production from organic waste and biomass. The organisation designs, builds, operates, and services large-scale energy infrastructure for agricultural, industrial, and utility sectors worldwide. With expertise spanning plant engineering, gas upgrading, energy management, and operational services, the company focuses on innovation, sustainability, and supporting the transition toward low-carbon and circular energy systems.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Maintain, secure, and continuously improve OT infrastructures across biogas production facilities.
  • Enhance OT cybersecurity strategies and implement effective technical protection measures.
  • Support vulnerability management activities and risk assessments for OT systems and connected IT environments.
  • Assist in designing and improving network segmentation, authentication, and secure access solutions within IT/OT architectures.
  • Contribute to the deployment and optimization of remote access, backup, recovery, and emergency response solutions for OT operations.
  • Collaborate closely with plant engineering teams, IT departments, external partners, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain clear documentation for security controls, technical systems, and operational procedures

Requirements

  • Several years of professional experience in IT, OT, automation, or related technical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control environments such as PLCs, SCADA platforms, or other process control systems, including their security requirements.
  • Practical experience with segmentation strategies, secure remote connectivity, backup and restore procedures, and disaster recovery planning in OT settings.
  • Familiarity with OT cybersecurity frameworks and standards, particularly IEC 62443; knowledge of ISO 27001 is considered a plus.
  • Structured, dependable, and team-oriented working style with the ability to remain effective under pressure
  • C1 German and fluent English
