Job description
Coyles are looking for an experienced Data & AI Governance Specialist to support the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of our clientâs Data & AI Governance capability.
You will work closely with the Data & AI Governance Manager, Data Owners, Data Stewards and wider business stakeholders. The role will help establish trusted, well-governed and AI-ready data foundations that support reporting, analytics, automation and AI adoption., * Maintain data and AI governance processes, standards, records and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate governance forums and working groups.
- Track governance actions, decisions, issues and risks.
- Produce governance reports, dashboards, KPIs and insights.
- Maintain governance evidence, registers, inventories and audit records.
- Support the administration of Microsoft Purview.
- Maintain business glossary terms, metadata assets and data catalogue information.
- Assist with data ownership, stewardship and classification processes.
- Support the onboarding and training of Data Owners and Data Stewards.
- Monitor the completion of stewardship activities and escalate governance risks where required.
- Maintain Responsible AI governance records and documentation.
- Support AI risk assessments, governance reviews and policy compliance.
- Assist with audits, assurance activities and evidence-gathering exercises.
- Analyse governance metrics and trends to support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Previous experience using Microsoft Purview.
- Experience supporting Data Governance or Information Governance activities.
- Good understanding of governance frameworks, controls and policies.
- Experience producing governance reports, metrics and documentation.
- Experience working with data catalogues, metadata or data quality processes.
- Strong organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience supporting data stewardship activities.
- Experience supporting audit and compliance processes.
- DAMA, Microsoft or another governance-related certification.
- Experience working within a large or federated organisation., * What experience do you have working with governance frameworks, controls and policies? (Written Answer Required)
- Are you available to start on Monday 28th September 2026 and able to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm, in the Stevenage SG1 area? (Written Answer Required)
- Please outline your experience using Microsoft Purview, including any work with business glossaries, metadata or data catalogues. (Written Answer Required)
- Please describe your experience supporting Data Governance or Information Governance activities. (Written Answer Required)
- What is your desired hourly rate for this contract? (Written Answer Required)

Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence and Own vehicle (required)
