Job description

We are seeking an experienced RRAM Reliability Engineer to support the development, qualification, and production deployment of advanced embedded Resistive RAM (RRAM) technologies. The successful candidate will define and execute reliability qualification strategies, investigate failure mechanisms, develop reliability models, and work closely with integration, device, process, product engineering, and customer teams to ensure robust RRAM solutions for automotive, industrial, and IoT applications.

Your Job

Reliability Qualification & Assessment

  • Develop and execute RRAM technology qualification plans.
  • Design and execute reliability stress tests including:
  • Endurance
  • Data retention
  • Read disturb
  • Write disturb
  • High-temperature operating life (HTOL)
  • TDDB and related dielectric reliability evaluations

  • Develop lifetime prediction and reliability models using statistical techniques.
  • Support customer reliability assessments and qualification deliverables.
  • Define reliability requirements and qualification criteria for new RRAM products and technology nodes.
  • Establish screening and monitoring methodologies for RRAM manufacturing.

Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation

  • Investigate RRAM failure mechanisms and switching degradation behavior.
  • Lead root-cause analysis activities involving electrical, physical, and material characterization.
  • Correlate device performance with process, integration, and material variations.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability margins.

Technology Development Support

  • Collaborate with FEOL, BEOL, integration, device, modeling, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support optimization of RRAM switching conditions and operating windows.
  • Evaluate new material stacks, dopants, and process changes for reliability impact.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Microelectronics, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of semiconductor NVM reliability experience.
  • Direct experience with:
  • RRAM / ReRAM
  • Embedded NVM technologies
  • MRAM, PCM, or other emerging memory technologies

  • Knowledge of:
  • Switching mechanisms and conductive filament physics
  • Retention, endurance, and variability behavior
  • Understanding of algorithm impact on RRAM forming-, erase-, and program operation and how it subsequently impacts the different reliability mechanisms
  • Automotive qualification requirements (AEC-Q100, JEDEC)
  • Programming skills in Python, VBA, or advanced statistical tools.

Benefits & conditions

The position is open-ended and to be filled as soon as possible.

Attractive compensation components:

13th month salary, bonus payments, assistance with relocation to Dresden.
