Job description

  • Day-to-day operation of DARRAN’s wired and wireless network, including UniFi gateways, switches, access points, VLANs, VPNs, Internet connectivity, and monitoring.
  • Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Hyper-V, and remaining on-premises infrastructure.
  • Microsoft 365 administration including users, groups, licensing, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, and Intune.
  • Freshservice ticket ownership, prioritization, escalation, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Internal coordination for Intuitive ERP support, including vendor tickets, issue tracking, escalation, knowledge capture, and support meetings.
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft SQL Server support, SQL queries, scheduled-job monitoring, and operational reporting.
  • Existing reporting tools such as Power BI, SSRS, Crystal Reports, and Excel as needed by the business.
  • NinjaOne, SentinelOne, patching, endpoint health, security alerts, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Technology vendors, contracts, renewals, warranties, licenses, support contacts, and service escalations.
  • Technology assets, network diagrams, system documentation, vendor documentation, and support knowledge.
  • Plant and manufacturing technology connectivity, including machine PCs, scanners, warehouse terminals, printers, and other network-connected equipment.

A Big Part of This Job: Own the Follow-Through

DARRAN uses outside specialists and vendors for areas where deeper expertise is needed. We are not looking for someone who must personally know every answer. We are looking for someone who owns the problem until it is solved.

  • Open and manage vendor support cases and keep them moving.
  • Know when an ERP, network, server, or security problem needs escalation.
  • Hold vendors accountable for response time and deliverables.
  • Document the fix so the same issue becomes easier the next time.
  • Make sure important tickets do not disappear into a queue.
  • Give production, ERP, security, and companywide issues priority over lower-impact work., This position is DARRAN’s primary internal technical resource for day-to-day IT operations. The Network & Systems Administrator works with DARRAN leadership, a Fractional CIO, JEM Network, ERP specialists, and other vendors. The Fractional CIO retains responsibility for long-range IT strategy, architecture, major investments, budgeting, cybersecurity governance, and SaaS ERP selection and transformation. You will provide the hands-on operational ownership, technical input, vendor coordination, and implementation support that makes those initiatives successful.

What Success Looks Like

  • The network and core systems are stable, monitored, and well documented.
  • Critical tickets are recognized quickly and driven through resolution.
  • ERP vendor issues have clear ownership, status, and follow-up.
  • Vendors and renewals are actively managed instead of operating on autopilot.
  • Endpoints and servers are patched, monitored, and protected.
  • Documentation stays current as the environment changes.
  • DARRAN steadily reduces its dependency on undocumented tribal knowledge and individual outside resources.

Why DARRAN

This is an opportunity to take ownership of an IT environment at an inflection point. Rather than spending your time preserving a collection of aging systems, you’ll help operate a cleaner, more standardized platform as DARRAN modernizes networking, servers, Microsoft 365, security, monitoring, and eventually ERP. The role offers broad technical exposure, meaningful ownership, and direct impact on a manufacturing business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure, network, systems administration, or similar experience preferred.
  • Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networking.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
  • Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Virtualization experience; Hyper-V experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and the ability to write or maintain practical SQL queries.
  • Experience supporting an ERP, manufacturing system, or other mission-critical business application.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
  • Comfort managing MSPs, software vendors, telecom providers, and support contracts.
  • Excellent documentation, organization, and communication skills.
  • Manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or ERP-driven business experience is strongly preferred., You do not need to be an expert in every product below. Strong fundamentals and the ability to learn are more important than checking every box.
  • Ubiquiti UniFi
  • Microsoft 365 / Entra ID / Intune
  • Windows Server / Active Directory / Hyper-V
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Intuitive ERP
  • Power BI / SSRS / Crystal Reports
  • Freshservice
  • NinjaOne
  • SentinelOne
  • Veeam Backup & Replication
  • SharePoint / OneDrive / Teams
