Design Engineer

o Mechanical design & detailing of transmission gear & shaft assemblies and associated components.

o Responsible for identified transmission sub-system or component design as per allocation, ensuring subsystem / component designs meet target specifications / requirements

o Support the BOM generation for new product introductions

o Support DFMEA generation for transmission and driveline components

o Apply appropriate quality tools in the resolution of design issues

o Perform tolerance calculations/checking

o Perform design calculations (shaft strength/bearing/Synchronisers/Gears)

o Prepare, check 2D drawings for release

o Use of analytical softwares (like Masta) to support design decisions

o Produce presentations to support the reporting of design activities

o Provide research & investigative support for the Technology Roadmap

o Support VAVE type activities to help reduce the cost and improve function of existing production designs

Do you have experience in Microsoft PowerPoint?, o Degree qualified or similar qualification.

o 2 years transmission / gearbox design experience

o Able to apply full GD&T

o Organised and capable of working efficiently as part of a small team to tight deadlines.

o Can demonstrate experience in the design & analysis of transmission and drivetrain components

o Knowledge of geartrain production methods

o Knowledge of gearbox analytical & experimental validation procedures

o Logical and structured thinker with an ability to manage and prioritise personal activity to deliver projects

o Good problem-solving skills with an ability to analyse data and determine appropriate actions.

o Creative and innovative thinker with an ability to identify opportunities for new products and product enhancements

o Capable of working with Creo Parametric CAD system & Windchill

o Strong communication and written skills

o MS Office competent (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Teams)
