Job description

Your overall goal within the business will be coaching and development of apprentices through the ICT Apprenticeship Standards while tracking/supporting & driving their progression through the apprenticeship journey. You will work alongside the employer to develop the plans for how and when the on-programme and end-point assessments will be delivered and assess the apprentices progress towards the development of their knowledge, skills, and behaviours. You will be working alongside a number of other coaches on the same pathway who work to support & share best practices with each other & provide guidance where necessary. You will also work closely with the Service Delivery Manager, Quality and Curriculum Manager and Sales teams to establish effective ways of learning to improve learner satisfaction and success rates., * Review the contents of the standard with the employer and apprentice, planning the projects and tasks that will be needed for the apprentice to meet the standard in full, and engage with the employer and apprentice on setting new targets and refining the project plans as the apprenticeship progresses.

  • Motivate and encourage learning and development in your learners, providing good levels of feedback for the summative portfolio which meets Ofsted standards.
  • Plan and deliver microteach sessions to help consolidate and fill any knowledge gaps the learner may have, embedding Maths & English Functional Skills into the coaching sessions.
  • Prepare the apprentice for their end-point assessment by asking regular appropriate questions that build on the skills as the apprentice progresses and observing demonstrations on the apprentices’ practical skills.
  • Record and report on activity via Aptem, our E-portfolio system, completing and distributing coaching reports and formal reviews as required.

Requirements

Do you have experience in IT?, * Experience of the ICT apprenticeship standard &/or an IT related Assessor role for a minimum of 1 year is essential or any other relevant industry experience.

  • Experience in learner/employee development is essential.
  • Desirable: Assessor qualification such as TAQA, A1 or suitable IT degree, Relevant IT Vendor qualifications such as CISCO CCNA, AWS, Azure, CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL.

The successful candidate must also complete all pre-employment vetting and will complete safeguarding training during their induction.
