Job description

You will support our team in delivering high-quality refurbished products to our customers by ensuring equipment is tested, configured, and meets quality standards before delivery., * Provide training, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members to support consistent performance

  • Take initiative to identify and resolve issues that impact build efficiency, quality, or delivery timelines
  • Perform detailed testing, inspection, and documentation of enterprise-level servers, storage, and networking equipment
  • Diagnose and carry out cost-effective repairs on servers, storage, and networking equipment
  • Continuously review and improve build and testing procedures to support quality and operational excellence
  • Validate hardware compatibility and interoperability across system components
  • Strip, clean, and prepare equipment in line with technical and quality guidelines
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on inbound stock and completed builds to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Support the processing and verification of customer orders and returns, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution
  • Respond to colleague enquiries and provide technical advice and support
  • Maintain and develop product and technical knowledge through ongoing hands-on work

Requirements

If you have strong attention to detail, take satisfaction in solving technical challenges, and enjoy helping others develop their skills, this position could be a great fit for you., * Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a systems engineering, infrastructure, technical support, or similar technical role.

  • Degree level education in Computing, Networking, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in customer support at first line level or above in a technical environment
  • Ability to research technical information and apply it in a practical, work-based context
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach
  • Good understanding of customer requirements and the impact of poor quality or failure
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to organise workload effectively and prioritise tasks under pressure
  • Experience providing training, guidance, or mentoring to others
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of cost, efficiency, and value of repair decisions
  • Confident using Microsoft Outlook and Excel for communication, tracking, and reporting
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates clearly and professionally
  • Detailed knowledge of testing, inspection, fault finding, and documentation of storage systems and enterprise hardware.

Desirable

  • Industry-recognised certifications such as CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Dell, HPE, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with enterprise server, storage, and networking platforms in a data centre or infrastructure environment.

The position is office-based in Dalbeattie. Our standard operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5 pm. Salary for the role is dependent on experience., * Company events
