Pearson Carter are currently working with a large organisation undergoing significant digital transformation who are looking to hire a Solutions Architect (Applications & Integration). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping application and integration architecture across a complex enterprise environment, helping to deliver scalable, secure, and user-focused digital services. - Designed and governed scalable, secure application and integration architectures across bespoke, SaaS, and third-party platforms.
- Defined integration strategies using APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging, and data synchronisation patterns.
- Led application modernisation initiatives, including cloud adoption and legacy system retirement.
- Collaborated with Enterprise, Security, Data, and Business Architects to ensure alignment with technology strategy and governance standards.
- Supported Agile and DevOps delivery through architectural assurance, automation, and continuous improvement practices.
- Provided technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, supplier management, and mentoring across delivery and architecture teams.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing and delivering application and integration solutions within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in modern architectures, including cloud-native, microservices, and modular monolith designs.
- Proven track record delivering integrations using APIs, messaging technologies, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration platforms.
- Experienced in integrating SaaS solutions with enterprise applications, with a strong focus on security, identity, and access management.
- Skilled in Agile and DevOps delivery practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous improvement.

Effective technical leader with experience in architecture governance, stakeholder engagement, documentation, mentoring, and communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences. Desirable:
- Experience delivering enterprise integrations using MuleSoft, API Management platforms, iPaaS solutions, messaging technologies, and other integration services.
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and applying architectural governance within complex organisations.
- Experience working in regulated and public sector environments, with knowledge of accessibility standards and user-centred design principles.
