Job description

The successful candidate may be responsible for:

  • Teaching doctoral-level business, research, or methodology courses.
  • Serving as a doctoral dissertation chair or committee member.
  • Mentoring doctoral candidates throughout the dissertation process.
  • Providing substantive and timely feedback on dissertation proposals, research designs, data analysis, and final manuscripts.
  • Supporting students through proposal development, IRB approval, data collection, analysis, dissertation defense, and final revisions.
  • Evaluating student progress toward doctoral milestones.
  • Participating in comprehensive examinations and dissertation defenses.
  • Supporting the development of doctoral-level research and scholarly activities.
  • Participating in DBA research seminars, colloquia, and faculty development activities.
  • Collaborating with faculty and academic leadership to maintain appropriate academic rigor and doctoral-level standards.

Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • An earned doctoral degree (Ph.D., DBA, or equivalent terminal degree) from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • Academic or professional expertise relevant to business administration, management, leadership, organizational studies, information systems, marketing, finance, strategy, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching at the graduate or doctoral level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of doctoral-level research and dissertation processes.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor doctoral students in an online and/or hybrid learning environment.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

Priority consideration will be given to candidates who have:

  • Successfully chaired completed doctoral dissertations.
  • Served as a member of multiple doctoral dissertation committees.
  • Experience supervising doctoral candidates from proposal development through final defense.
  • Strong expertise in one or more of the following research methodologies:
  • Quantitative research
  • Qualitative research
  • Mixed-methods research
  • Advanced experience with statistical or research-analysis tools such as SPSS, R, Stata, SAS, NVivo, MAXQDA, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with research involving human participants and Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes.
  • An active record of scholarly research, peer-reviewed publication, conference presentation, or other academic scholarship.
  • Experience working with diverse and international doctoral students.
  • Experience supporting doctoral students in online programs.
  • Familiarity with APA 7th edition and doctoral-level scholarly writing.

About the company

Stanton University is seeking experienced doctoral-level faculty to support the development and future delivery of its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program.

We are particularly interested in faculty members with demonstrated experience chairing doctoral dissertations, serving on dissertation committees, supervising doctoral research, and teaching graduate-level research methodology courses.
