Job description
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has lived across the full trading technology stack, from exchange connectivity and low latency execution through to pricing model validation and 24/7 production support. You will act as the bridge between quantitative research and live trading, making sure strategies move from model to production reliably and at scale.
What you will do
- Own 24/7 production stability across live trading systems, leading incident management, root cause analysis and continuous improvement of monitoring and platform resilience
- Introduce and develop AI assisted monitoring and anomaly detection tooling to identify production risk early and reduce mean time to resolution
- Work closely with quantitative researchers to own the path from research model to production deployment, including validation of Python based pricing mechanisms for derivatives and structured products
- Manage FIX protocol and native exchange connectivity across multiple venues
- Lead configuration and performance tuning of the trading ecosystem
- Oversee regulatory and exchange driven change so that migrations land with zero disruption to live trading
- Build and maintain automated regression and testing frameworks
- Set the standard for operational excellence across the platform
Requirements
- Substantial experience in financial markets technology, ideally gained across buy side, sell side and exchange environments
- Deep production engineering background with proven ownership of L3 support for live trading systems
- Strong working knowledge of derivatives, futures and options, currency derivatives, structured products and digital assets
- Hands-on experience with FIX protocol and direct exchange connectivity
- Solid Python, Linux shell scripting and SQL, with the ability to review and validate quantitative pricing models
- Track record of delivering regulatory change (MiFID II or equivalent) and exchange migrations in production
- Experience applying AI assisted tooling, backtesting frameworks or automation to production operations
- A degree in computer engineering or a related discipline
Desirable
- Exposure to C or C++ in a low latency context
- Recognised derivatives or capital markets certifications
- Experience working across distributed international teams
