Job description
- Replace Trackum with a Power Platform UI allowing bondsmen, sureties, and MCAs to directly enter and update licensing, bond, and forfeiture data.
- Build Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps for internal field audits and structured workflows integrated with state service portals.
- Design and configure Dataverse data models capturing applicant, bondsman, surety, and MCA data (residence/business/mailing address, contact info, legal name, liability amounts, bond activity).
- Develop a calculations engine to automate:
- Special Deposit calculations (liability ÷ 20 or ÷ 10)
- Special Deposit Flag comparisons (>10% variance triggers)
- Ratio Writing Liability determination (20:1 vs. 10:1, based on rolling 12-month flag history)
- Late/outstanding report detection against the 15th-of-month due date (with weekend/holiday rollover logic)
- Build Power Automate flows to eliminate manual touchpoints in licensing, fraud tracking, and consumer complaint workflows, including automated 10-day notice generation and canned-letter/email templates tied to each agency’s electronic record.
- Develop reporting covering: Liability Reports (with exception highlighting), Report Submission/Late Report queries, Bondsman Activity, Settled Amounts/Fines, and ad hoc reporting across available data fields.
- Manage solution deployment (solutions, environment variables) through test/UAT into production, per state IT governance standards.
- Use Power Fx and JavaScript as needed to enhance form validation, logic, and field triggers in model-driven apps.
- Support integration with existing systems (AS/400, and eventually a case management system for legal referrals) via APIs and JSON.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with:
- 3+ years of professional application development experience
- 2+ years specifically designing and deploying Power Apps / Power Automate solutions
- Strong understanding of relational database design and Dataverse architecture
- Experience with API-based data integration and JSON manipulation
- Working knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) protocols and public-sector security frameworks
- Basic familiarity with state government IT standards and governance processes
Compliance & Logistics
- Must pass an Enhanced Background Check (OSBI/FBI), * Do you have at least 3 years of total application development experience, including a minimum of 2 years specifically designing and deploying solutions in Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate?
- Are you able to pass an Enhanced Background Check through OSBI/FBI? Do you have any convictions, pending charges, or immigration status issues that would prevent clearance for a high data-sensitivity state government engagement?
- Have you personally configured Dataverse tables, relationships, and business rules from scratch on a project - not just used pre-built templates or connectors?
- How soon you can join?
- Do you have hands-on experience integrating Power Platform solutions with external systems via APIs and JSON, outside of native connectors?
- Are you familiar with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) protocols or public sector security frameworks?
