Job description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a Navy training systems program focused on Joint After Action Review (JAAR) and Data Collection and Display (DCD) applications. This individual will join an Agile software development team responsible for designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting, and deploying mission-critical software that supports Navy training and operational readiness. This is a remote position with occasional travel to support software installation, testing, and customer engagement activities., * Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications supporting JAAR and DCD systems.
- Collaborate with customers and internal Agile development teams on sprint planning, execution, and reviews.
- Gather and interpret requirements to design and implement software solutions.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and system issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including design artifacts, sequence diagrams, and development documentation.
- Perform software testing and validation in lab and operational environments.
- Support software deployments, installations, and integration efforts.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with software engineering best practices and standards.
- Develop and maintain database functionality and data-driven applications.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and modern software development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree and 7+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum development environments.
- Strong software development experience with:
-C#
-C+ -Angular (or similar front-end frameworks)
- Experience working with relational databases, including:
-PostgreSQL
- SQL
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 3 months of hire if not already certified. - Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Prior experience supporting military training, simulation, or defense systems.
- Current Security+ CE certification.

Benefits & conditions
$70/hr-$74/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
