Job description

Analyze, modify, enhance, and maintain existing Embedded C++ software to implement Change Requests (CRs). Develop and maintain HMI functionality for Multifunction Control and Display Unit (MCDU) applications. Understand software architecture, design constructs, requirements, and existing codebases. Perform software debugging, root cause analysis, defect resolution, and verification. Support software integration, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Collaborate with system engineers, software architects, verification teams, and customer stakeholders. Participate in code reviews and follow established aerospace software development processes and standards. Contribute to software development and maintenance activities throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer C++ FMS to support Flight Management System (FMS) development activities for a leading aerospace customer. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Embedded C++, Flight Management Systems (FMS), Human Machine Interface (HMI) development, and avionics software. Experience with Airbus systems is highly preferred. This role focuses on the development, enhancement, debugging, and maintenance of HMI software associated with the Multifunction Control and Display Unit (MCDU)., Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. 3 8 years of experience in Embedded Software Development. Strong programming experience in C++ within embedded systems environments. Experience understanding and modifying existing software architectures and code constructs. Ability to implement software enhancements based on Change Requests. Strong software debugging and troubleshooting skills. Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD/OOP) principles. Understanding of the software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with Flight Management Systems (FMS) or other avionics applications. Experience with HMI/UI development, particularly for cockpit or avionics display systems. Experience with MCDU/CDU, cockpit systems, flight deck software, or avionics display applications. Airbus experience is highly preferred. Experience in flight software development and debugging environments. Knowledge of DO-178B/DO-178C aerospace software standards. Familiarity with software integration, unit testing, and verification activities. Experience with tools such as VectorCAST, LDRA, RTRT, Git, ClearCase, or similar development environments.
