Job description

As a Hardware Senior Principal System Integration Engineer supporting Network L11 rack-scale solutions, you will drive the integration and delivery of enterprise-class networking platforms that combine advanced switches, optics, cables, power, cooling, and rack-level infrastructure technologies. Working closely with cross-functional teams across ISG, you will develop deep expertise in L11 system architecture, hardware integration, validation, and deployment through end-to-end engagement in the product lifecycle. From defining rack-level designs and hardware configurations to enabling manufacturing, supply chain readiness, data center deployment, and field serviceability, you will play a key role in delivering innovative, scalable, and reliable networking solutions in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment driven by innovation, integrity, and accountability., * Lead end-to-end integration of Network L11 rack-scale solutions, including switches, cables, optics, power, cooling, and rack infrastructure for AI and high-performance networking deployments

  • Define and drive L11 system architecture, rack layouts, mechanical stack-ups, cabling topologies, airflow strategies, and serviceability requirements to ensure scalable, reliable, and deployable solutions
  • Apply deep understanding of data center architecture, networking infrastructure, and rack-level integration to develop optimized solutions that meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and deployment objectives
  • Collaborate across hardware, mechanical, thermal, electrical, firmware, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to translate requirements into robust, production-ready designs
  • Lead system integration reviews, validation activities, and complex problem-solving efforts, driving issue resolution from development through deployment while meeting cost, schedule, quality, and performance goals

Requirements

If you’re energized by solving complex systems challenges, excited to work alongside AI to amplify your impact, and motivated by the opportunity to shape what’s next instead of simply maintaining what’s been done before, you’ll find your place here., * 15+ years of related experience and a strong foundation in system-level product development to evaluate technical tradeoffs and align product decisions with business, operational, and customer requirements

  • Deep knowledge of rack-level system integration, including networking hardware, cabling and optics, power distribution, thermal management, mechanical infrastructure, and platform configuration
  • Experience translating data center, customer, and infrastructure requirements into scalable, reliable, and serviceable hardware solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and effectively communicate, influence, and align stakeholders across engineering, operations, suppliers, and business teams
  • Strong project and program management skills, with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex hardware products that meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule objectives

Desirable Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience with Network L11 rack-scale solutions, including system integration, rack architecture, cabling, optics, power, cooling, and data center deployment
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking platforms, AI infrastructure, or large-scale data center environments, including collaboration across cross-functional engineering teams

Benefits & conditions

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $176k - $242k.

About the company

Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) builds the products that power infrastructure, solutions, and data management our customers need most. Our teams design and develop the hardware and software that connect infrastructure, accelerate computational workloads, integrate across the stack, protect data continuity, and deliver the platforms, applications, and diagnostics our customers rely on every day at enterprise scale.

Some product builders follow the rules. Ours rewrite them.

Within ISG, innovation isn’t just about creating new technology- it’s about challenging assumptions and reimagining how work gets done. Engineers define intent, author precise specifications, and orchestrate AI agents that execute at speed and scale. AI is embedded throughout our development process, helping us move faster, learn quicker, and deliver greater impact. Yet the most important contribution remains uniquely human: deciding what to build, designing how it should work, and applying the judgment needed to earn our customers’ trust. When your products power critical infrastructure around the world, that responsibility matters.

We move quickly toward the work that matters most. We reward experimentation, encourage bold thinking, and remove unnecessary barriers so great ideas can become reality faster. Our teams embrace a customer-first, first-to-market mindset, transforming rapid feedback into better products and better outcomes. We aren’t looking for people who are content with the status quo- we look for builders who question it, improve it, and occasionally rewrite it.
