Job description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager - Technology to lead our organisation’s technological initiatives. This pivotal role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network engineering, systems administration, and project management, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to shape the organisation’s technological future while managing diverse teams and projects., * Lead the development and execution of the organisation’s IT strategy in alignment with business objectives.

  • Oversee the management of network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPNs, Cisco routers, firewalls, and VoIP systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Manage server environments such as Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and SAN storage solutions.
  • Supervise system administration tasks including Active Directory, DHCP, IIS, SharePoint, SCCM, PowerShell scripting, and remote access software.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST standards and implement disaster recovery plans to safeguard organisational data.
  • Coordinate application development projects using SDLC methodologies and tools like Jira and Microsoft Project.
  • Oversee network security measures including firewalls, network support tools like SolarWinds and Cisco routers to protect organisational assets.
  • Lead DevOps initiatives involving Docker containers, vSphere virtualisation, Citrix solutions, and automation processes.
  • Manage IT support functions including help desk services, desktop support, technical support for hardware/software issues, and user training programmes.
  • Collaborate with product management teams on APIs integration and system optimisation to enhance service delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement through analysis skills and leadership in adopting new technologies such as Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365 suite.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Network infrastructure?, * Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN architecture, DHCP, DNS utilisation.

  • Proven expertise in system administration across Windows Server environments (including Microsoft Exchange), Linux servers, VMware vSphere, Azure cloud platform.
  • Strong understanding of network engineering principles alongside network infrastructure security protocols.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services alongside familiarity with SolarWinds network monitoring tools.
  • Skilled in application development using JavaScript, C#, .NET frameworks; database management with SQL Server and Oracle; scripting with PowerShell and Python.
  • Competent in project management methodologies such as Scrum; proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint & Excel; SharePoint expertise beneficial.
  • Knowledge of information security practices including firewall configuration, VPN setup, SAN management; understanding of SDLC processes for software development projects.
  • Leadership qualities with excellent communication skills; capable of managing diverse teams across multiple projects while fostering a collaborative environment. This role is ideal for a forward-thinking professional eager to influence organisational growth through innovative technological solutions while maintaining robust operational standards across all IT functions.
