Job description

  • Programming, setting and operating XYZ Proturn lathes or XYZ Protrak milling machines
  • Manufacturing one-off and small batch components
  • Producing components from drawings, sketches and customer samples
  • Repairing and refurbishing existing components
  • Reverse engineering worn or damaged parts
  • Working to tight tolerances and customer deadlines
  • Supporting urgent repair and breakdown requirements
  • Working on a wide variety of engineering projects and materials

Requirements

Do you have experience in SolidWorks?, This is not a production machining environment. The work is highly varied and would suit someone who enjoys problem solving, repair work and working from samples, sketches and engineering drawings., * Time-served engineer or equivalent machining experience

  • Strong experience using either XYZ Proturn lathes or XYZ Protrak milling machines
  • Previous experience within a jobbing shop or subcontract machining environment
  • Ability to manufacture from drawings, sketches and samples
  • Experience carrying out repair work and reverse engineering
  • Strong understanding of general engineering and machining practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage varied workloads
