Job description

You will play a key role in the experimental characterisation of QKD systems, contributing highquality data and physical insight., * Design and carry out experimental tests of QKD transmitters, receivers, and subsystem components.

  • Characterise photonic and electronic elements such as sources, detectors and modulators.

Implementation Security

  • Generate experimental evidence that supports security analysis, modelling, and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide clear, datadriven input to decisions on system architecture and performance tradeoffs.

Collaboration & Contribution

  • Work closely with experimental and theoretical teams to ensure security assumptions reflect practical implementation details.
  • Contribute to joint research activities with academic and industrial partners.
  • Write internal reports, coauthor scientific publications, and present work at conferences.
  • Contribute to efforts to develop global standards for quantum technologies.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Python?, Do you have a Doctoral degree?, * PhD (or equivalent experience) in Experimental Physics, Photonics, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong handson experience with experimental photonic systems.
  • Proven ability to design, execute, and interpret complex measurements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment., * Knowledge of QKD, quantum optics, or quantum communications.
  • Familiarity with implementation security or assurancedriven testing.
  • Experimental automation, data analysis, or systemlevel testing experience.
  • Experience with QKD systems or closely related platforms.
  • Experience with electronics design (PCB development, FPGA programming, highspeed electronics).
  • Competence in Python or similar languages; experience with version control (e.g., Git), If you are motivated by handson experimentation, deep system understanding, and translating careful measurement into realworld impact, we would be delighted to hear from you.
