Job description

Your main project is getting our custom CRM live - the platform that powers the ConveyancerPlus sales team end-to-end, from the moment a lead lands through to a confirmed, paid-up instruction.

We need someone who is confident coming into this role and managing the project end-to-end from day one. This isn’t a hand-holding role. You’ll take ownership of the CRM - shipping features, fixing bugs, managing releases, keeping the test suite green and the platform healthy in production and make the calls on what ships and when. You’ll also take on web projects for our law firm clients alongside the core build.

If you like owning the whole thing rather than a slice of it, this is the role.

What You’ll Do

  • Get the custom CRM live and own it end-to-end: React/TypeScript frontend, Supabase backend, and the Stripe/Mailgun/Twilio integrations that drive the sales workflow
  • Build and maintain law firm client websites: deliver and support a portfolio of web projects for our partner firms alongside the CRM
  • Write and review SQL migrations, RLS policies, and Deno edge functions
  • Run the release process: triage issues, prioritise the backlog, ship fixes, and verify before they go out
  • Maintain and extend the Playwright E2E suite (currently 852/899 passing - get us to 100%)
  • Monitor production: deploys, database health, Stripe webhooks, email/SMS deliverability
  • Switch test integrations (Stripe, Twilio, Mailgun) to production keys for go-live
  • Keep documentation and the internal knowledge base current

Tech Stack You’ll Work With

Languages: TypeScript (frontend + edge functions, ~95% of the codebase), SQL (PostgreSQL migrations, RLS policies), JavaScript (config/scripts), HTML/CSS (Tailwind, minimal custom CSS)

Frameworks & platforms:

  • React 18 + Vite 5 + Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui
  • Supabase (Postgres, Auth, Edge Functions on Deno, Storage, Realtime)
  • Stripe (payments), Mailgun (email), Twilio (SMS/voice)
  • Vercel (hosting), GitHub Actions (CI), Playwright (E2E tests)

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * 4+ years TypeScript / React in production

  • Solid PostgreSQL - schema design, RLS, performance
  • Hands-on Supabase (or equivalent BaaS) including edge functions
  • Stripe Checkout + webhooks in production
  • Git/GitHub PR workflow, CI/CD with GitHub Actions
  • Playwright or equivalent E2E framework
  • The confidence and judgement to own a live platform and multiple client website projects end-to-end, with minimal oversight

Nice-to-Have

  • UK conveyancing or legal-tech domain experience (quotes, disbursements, stamp duty, Land Registry fees, BSA, leasehold rules)
  • Mailgun, Twilio, Vercel production experience
  • Sales CRM / pipeline product experience (pipelines, lead scoring, callbacks, nurture sequences)
  • Email deliverability, merge fields, and automation triggers

Benefits & conditions

  • Employee discount
  • Casual dress
  • Work from home, How You’ll Work
  • 100% remote, async-first, outcome-focused - we care about what ships, not hours logged
  • Standard Git/GitHub workflow: feature branch * PR * review * merge
  • An internal ops dashboard for tracking tests, releases and the backlog
  • Clear guardrails on test data and live service usage

Why LegalBuzz

  • A real product with real traction. ConveyancerPlus is the UK’s highest-rated conveyancing conversion team - 4.9*, 300+ reviews, trusted by Legal 500 firms. The CRM you build for LegalBuzz powers a business that’s already winning.
  • Genuine ownership. You run the platform end-to-end. Your decisions ship, your work is visible, and you’re not buried three layers deep in someone else’s roadmap.
  • Variety. The core CRM plus a portfolio of law firm website projects - you won’t be doing the same thing every day.
  • Modern stack, no legacy baggage. TypeScript, React, Supabase, Stripe - built recently and built well.
  • Small, fast-moving team. Short feedback loops, no bureaucracy, and a direct line to the people making decisions.
  • Remote and flexible. Work where you’re most productive.

Success in 90 Days

  • The custom CRM is live in production
  • 100% Playwright pass rate
  • All 93 UAT items passed and signed off
  • Production keys live for Stripe / Twilio / Mailgun
  • Zero open critical bugs
  • First 5 partner firms running on the platform without engineering escalation

A steady delivery cadence established on law firm website projects
