Job description

Value Technology is seeking an experienced Apigee API Developer to design, develop, deploy, and manage enterprise API solutions using the Google Apigee platform. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Apigee API proxy development, backend integration, API security, policies, troubleshooting, and performance optimization., * Design, develop, deploy, and maintain API proxies using Google Apigee / Apigee X.

  • Develop reusable API policies for security, authentication, authorization, traffic management, mediation, and transformation.
  • Configure and implement API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, SAML, and other authentication mechanisms.
  • Integrate Apigee APIs with backend systems, microservices, databases, and enterprise applications.
  • Develop and configure Proxy Endpoints, Target Endpoints, Shared Flows, Flow Hooks, and reusable policies.
  • Implement policies such as Quota, Spike Arrest, Rate Limiting, CORS, VerifyAPIKey, OAuth, JWT, AssignMessage, RaiseFault, and ServiceCallout.
  • Work with REST and SOAP APIs, JSON/XML payloads, HTTP protocols, and API transformation requirements.
  • Troubleshoot API proxy, backend connectivity, authentication, performance, and production issues.
  • Monitor API performance, traffic, errors, latency, and availability using Apigee Analytics and monitoring tools.
  • Implement API versioning, lifecycle management, governance, and deployment strategies.
  • Support CI/CD automation for Apigee API deployments using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
  • Work with cloud-native environments and integrate Apigee with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in client meetings, requirement gathering, technical discussions, solution design, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare technical documentation including API specifications, design documents, deployment procedures, and support documentation.

Requirements

This role requires a combination of strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to interact directly with clients and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing API solutions., * 8+ years of experience in API development and integration.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Apigee / Apigee X.
  • Expertise in Apigee API Proxy development and policy configuration.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, XML, and API lifecycle management.
  • Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, TLS/SSL, and API security.
  • Strong backend integration experience with REST/SOAP services and microservices.
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, or Node.js for API-related development.
  • Experience with Apigee Shared Flows, Flow Hooks, Service Callouts, and custom policies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Experience with API performance tuning and Apigee Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
