Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Onsite Support Engineer to join their busy IT support function based in London’s West End. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role supporting a professional user base within a fast-paced environment.
You’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional desk-side and remote support, resolving technical issues efficiently, and ensuring service levels are consistently achieved. This role would suit someone who enjoys working directly with users, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in delivering an outstanding support experience.
This position is available on either a full-time contract or contract-to-permanent basis., * Provide desk-side and remote support for hardware, software, mobile devices, and Microsoft-based technologies.
- Act as a primary point of contact for end users, delivering a professional and customer-focused support experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
- Support Microsoft 365 technologies, including user administration, account management, and collaboration tools.
- Manage and maintain Active Directory users, groups, permissions, and access requests.
- Configure, deploy, and support laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and associated peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues across LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, and TCP/IP environments.
- Escalate complex issues where required while maintaining ownership and communication throughout the resolution process.
- Assist with device builds, onboarding, hardware refreshes, software deployments, and IT projects.
- Maintain accurate ticket updates, technical documentation, and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and third-party suppliers to ensure a seamless support service.
Requirements
Do you have experience in IT support?, * Proven experience in a 2nd Line, Onsite Support, Desktop Support, or IT Support role.
- Strong customer-facing and desk-side support experience within a busy user environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Experience supporting Active Directory, Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, and related Microsoft services.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs, and wireless connectivity.
- Experience using ITSM and ticket management systems.
- Ability to prioritise a varied workload and manage multiple incidents while maintaining service levels.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- A proactive, organised, and professional approach to customer support.
Desirable
- Experience working within an MSP or outsourced IT services environment.
- Exposure to Azure, Intune, Autopilot, and modern endpoint management technologies.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or equivalent.
