- Evaluate customer applications and recommend thread rolling solutions, tooling, and process improvements
- Review customer drawings, specifications, material requirements, and production objectives to develop optimal thread rolling processes
- Develop, validate, and document thread rolling processes for new and existing applications
- Support customer trials, process validation, troubleshooting, and production implementation activities
- Work hands-on with thread rolling attachments, rolls, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshoot customer production issues and provide technical recommendations to improve quality, productivity, and tool life
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, product development, and sales teams to ensure successful execution of customer projects
- Assist in the development, testing, and commercialization of new thread rolling products, technologies, and manufacturing solutions
- Prepare quotations, technical proposals, cost estimates, and application recommendations
- Conduct customer training, product demonstrations, and technical presentations
- Support new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers
- Travel to customer facilities as needed to support installations, process optimization, training, and application development (approximately 5-15%)
- Document application data, test results, lessons learned, and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives, Help solve real-world manufacturing challenges and deliver measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and profitability.

Requirements
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Applications Engineer to join our CJWinter Thread Rolling Solutions Team. This position is ideal for a mid-level engineer who enjoys solving manufacturing challenges, working directly with customers, and developing practical thread rolling solutions for real-world production applications.
This role combines technical expertise, hands-on problem solving, customer interaction, project management, and process development to support the successful implementation of thread rolling processes and tooling solutions across a wide range of industries., * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3-7 years of experience in applications engineering, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, tooling, machining, or a related technical role
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
Technical Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
- Experience with machining, metalworking, tooling, fastening systems, or cold-forming processes preferred
- Knowledge of thread rolling processes, tooling, or precision manufacturing is a plus
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software and parametric modeling preferred
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with HubSpot and Infor ERP systems preferred
