Job description
This position assists in the development, testing, release, and integration of software and hardware activities. The main function is to develop, implement, and document all testing activities, including test planning, test documentation, test execution, defect tracking and reporting, and issue resolution., * Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures for new and existing systems.
- Perform integration testing of Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) and system functionality.
- Maintain and integrate test rack configurations for system installations.
- Participate in all efforts for the testing and regression testing of software phase releases.
- Document software defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software developers.
- Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
- Assist in troubleshooting and analyzing the root cause of any system anomalies in hardware or software.
- Ensure all testing is properly documented and submitted.
- Assist in developing test plans and procedures to validate system requirements.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 0-3 years of experience in software/system engineering development or software/hardware testing.
Technical Skills:
- A technical background in development and testing.
- Familiarity with Unix and Linux OS, with a basic understanding of systems administrator capabilities and command language for Linux preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience writing test documentation such as test plans, scripts, and test results reports.
Other Skills:
- Ability to plan engineering activities to perform tasks.
- Solid writing and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret test results and provide recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the In-flight Entertainment (IFE) or Avionics industry is preferred., * Work hours consist of an 8-hour day shift with a flexible start time.
- The majority of time is spent at a test rack (75%), which includes standing, lifting, bending, twisting, and stooping.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.
- Occasional overtime and possible weekend support may be required.
- No travel is required.
