Job description

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer (Kotlin) to join the global Loyalty Development team, responsible for building and evolving products related to Loyalty & Customer Data. You will be involved in designing and developing scalable, cloud-native solutions that deliver personalized customer experiences across different channels and touchpoints. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Kotlin.
  • Building and managing scalable infrastructure with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Working in GitOps environments using Flux.
  • Creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
  • Working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, particularly BigQuery, GKE, and PubSub.
  • Integrating APIs and ensuring code quality through automated testing using Kotest and Testcontainers.
  • Collaborating actively within agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes, architecture, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Backend Software Engineer.
  • Strong experience with JVM technologies, ideally Kotlin and its ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with, or interest in, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform.
  • Familiarity with GitOps practices and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
  • Experience working with cloud services, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of API integration and management.
  • Ability to thrive in international teams and collaborative environments.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • English proficiency sufficient to work effectively in a global environment.
