Job DescriptionSenior Software Engineer (C# .NET) | FinTech | Newcastle (Onsite) | Up to £150K depending on experience. If you’re a strong C# engineer stuck in large, slow-moving environments or London burnout you’ll likely find this a very different proposition We’re working with a rapidly scaling FinTech startup building a modern trading and risk technology platform in partnership with an established hedge fund. They’re creating a high-performance engineering hub in Newcastle, focused on building serious systems used in real financial decision-making. This isn’t a maintenance role. You’ll be joining a small, high-calibre engineering team building core components of a live trading platform in a Microsoft stack, using modern C# / .NET to solve complex distributed systems problems at scale. What you’ll be doingYou’ll work across the core platform used for trading and financial operations, includingDesigning and building high-performance backend services in C# / .NETWorking on distributed systems, low-latency services, and data-heavy workflowsContributing to architecture decisions (not just implementatBuilding robust, production-grade software used in real financial environmentCollaborating closely with a tight engineering team (no layers of bureaucracy) Tech environmentC# / .NET (latest versions)Modern cloud and distributed system architectureStrong engineering fundamentals over framework churnExposure to Python is a bonus (not required) Why NewcastleThis is a full-time onsite role (Mon-Fri) based in brand-new central Newcastle offices.The setup is intentionally designed to be high-performance and collaborativeModern office with strong views over the city and surrounding countrysideActive, social engineering culture (many recent relocations)Commute-friendly location (walking/cycling encouraged, showers on site)Stable hours (09:00-18:00) with flexibility where neededStrong relocation support for UK-based candidates

Requirements
