Job description

As a Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Production Management team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives., * Maintains and supports Db2 database applications

  • Experienced with Mainframe environment and use of TSO/ISPF/JCL
  • Develop rapport with application development teams for collaboration
  • Expertise with troubleshooting/diagnosing Mainframe DB2 related issues
  • Maintains review of controls to ensure sufficient protection of enterprise data
  • Implements database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy
  • DDL Deployment, environment data refreshes, regular health checks
  • Maintains highest levels of stability, integrity, reliability, and availability
  • Experience with SQL and databases utilities including connectivity
  • Adds to team culture of team work, collaboration, and partnership

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on Data Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (RDBMS) and SQL operations
  • Working knowledge of JES2 and JCL, including RACF/ACF2 Security and CA7/ZEKE
  • Experience with performance analysis to optimize SQL workloads
  • Knowledge of SYSPlex Mainframe configuration including Data Sharing
  • Knowledge of the data lifecycle and data management functions
  • Working knowledge of Mainframe data system components
  • Strong understanding of data modeling fundamentals (eg, primary and foreign keys, constraints, indexing, etc.)
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, with a passion to build an innovative culture
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Understanding of general Mainframe Utilities, Database Utilities and Stored Procedures
  • Familiar with Mainframe environment and the use of TSO/ISPF
  • Understanding of Distributed and Static SQL workloads
  • Understanding of plex Mainframe configuration including Data Sharing & Stand-In
  • Familiar with IDAA (Data Analytics Accelerators)
