Job description

  • Oversee the entire release lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of software deployments across multiple environments such as cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premises data centers.
  • Collaborate with development teams, QA, operations, and security teams to ensure releases meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Automate deployment processes using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, and Gradle to streamline release workflows.
  • Manage containerization systems such as Docker and Kubernetes to facilitate scalable and reliable application deployment.
  • Monitor release progress using IT monitoring tools like New Relic, Splunk, Elasticsearch, and custom dashboards; troubleshoot issues swiftly to minimize downtime.
  • Implement disaster recovery plans and high availability strategies to ensure system resilience during releases.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of release procedures, version control (SVN, GitHub), and incident management records for auditability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Release Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across complex IT infrastructure environments. This pivotal role involves managing end-to-end release processes, ensuring seamless deployment of enterprise software, cloud-based applications, and microservices architectures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced setting, leveraging their expertise in DevOps practices, automation tools, and cloud infrastructure to deliver high-quality releases that support business agility and operational excellence., * Proven experience in release management within enterprise software environments involving cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and virtualization technologies like VMware and OpenStack.

  • Strong background in DevOps automation tools including Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash scripting, and Shell scripting for deploying scalable solutions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of containerization systems such as Docker and Kubernetes for microservices deployment.
  • Familiarity with enterprise middleware including WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss; application servers like Tomcat; databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server; and scripting languages like Groovy, Ruby on Rails, Python.
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure components including firewalls, DNS configurations, Active Directory integration, network administration (LAN/WAN), TCP/IP protocols.
  • Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), Agile methodologies (Scrum), continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD), system testing procedures and software troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to coordinate incident response efforts related to release issues or system outages; proficient in incident recovery strategies.
  • Excellent project management skills with a focus on requirements gathering and requirements management; familiarity with tools like Jira or TFS for tracking progress.
