Job description

Schedule: Primarily morning shifts starting at 8:00 AM or later, with a flexible schedule to support client appointments and occasional after-hours needs., * Onsite support: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues at client locations.

  • Remote support: Provide phone, email, and remote desktop assistance when appropriate.
  • Field visits: Schedule and perform client site visits for installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear, timely service records, ticket notes, and client-facing documentation.
  • Preparation and research: Independently research issues and prepare for appointments to ensure efficient, first-visit resolutions.
  • Collaboration: Work with developers, software engineers, and other technicians on escalations and projects.
  • Customer service: Communicate technical information clearly and professionally to non-technical clients, both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

We are hiring a moderate-to-experienced computer field technician to provide on-site and remote technical support for a local IT services company. This role requires strong customer service and business communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the discipline to prepare and research before client appointments. You will collaborate with other technicians and developers as needed and manage your own workflow without direct supervision., * Customer service excellence: Proven ability to deliver professional, patient, and solution-focused support.

  • Business communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and internal reporting.
  • Technical foundation: Entry-level understanding of IPv4, subnetting, and wireless network setup.
  • Web familiarity: Experience with or willingness to work in web frameworks such as WordPress.
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ preferred; candidates without certifications must be willing to obtain them within a reasonable timeframe. Certification exam fees will be reimbursed upon passing.
  • Work style: Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
  • Organizational skills: Strong documentation, ticketing, and follow-up habits.
  • Transportation: Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license for client visits.
  • Learning mindset: Willingness to continue learning and adapt to new technologies and client needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Field technician or freelance experience with a track record of punctuality and client satisfaction.
  • Experience supporting small business networks and common business applications.
  • Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
