Job description
We’re looking for a junior web designer/graphic designer to join our growing team. This role is focused on front end design, so you’ll be turning ideas and brand guidelines into clean, modern websites and supporting visual assets for our clients.
This is an office based job so you must be able to commute to Kilwinning, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work closely with our Web developer and the wider team to design and build websites, taking projects from wireframe through to finished site. You’ll also create supporting graphic design work including branding elements, social media graphics, print materials, and marketing assets for a range of client sectors.
Day to day, this means translating client briefs and brand guidelines into web page layouts, building and styling pages in WordPress/Elementor, designing graphics for digital and print use, and working with the team to keep projects moving and clients happy. You’ll get exposure to a wide variety of industries and project types, from small business websites to bigger branding projects., You’ll be joining a small, friendly agency where you’ll get real variety in your work and direct exposure to client projects from day one. This is office-based at our Corespace office in Kilwinning, working alongside the rest of the WD&P team.
Requirements
Do you have experience in WordPress?, You’ll have at least a year’s experience in web design, graphic design, or a related role, with a strong portfolio that shows your eye for layout, typography, and colour. You should be comfortable with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, and have some experience with WordPress, or be confident picking it up quickly.
A good understanding of how websites are structured and how design translates to a working front end is important, as is attention to detail and the ability to manage your own time across a few projects at once. You’ll be working in a small team, so being a good communicator and happy to ask questions or take feedback matters just as much as your design skills.
We have a pipeline of live clients so you will be designing and building from day 1., * Graphic design: 1 year (preferred)
- Web Design: 1 year (preferred)
