Job DescriptionTest Engineer, Electronics, Embedded Lymington, Southampton to £45,000 (Hybrid working)A leading manufacturing firm based near Southampton are requiring a Test Engineer with to design, develop test equipment and processes as well as carry out product testing for new and existing product development projects. Responsibilities include interpreting technical requirements, creating test plans, developing automated test fixtures and performing product testing.Main Duties* Support of system level testing of NPD projects: Develop the overall test plan and process of embedded systems, focusing on product performance, automated test systems and product requirements.* Develop test fixtures (production and engineering) for the testing of new products and subsystems of mechanical and electronic hardware.* Negotiate test requirements with product management, project management and other members of the project team as well as communicate these requirements and plans.* Integration testing

Requirements

setup and perform tests against the product requirements to ensure the product meets the system level requirements for the product.* Testing and validation: Develop and execute test plans to verify that the system meets its specifications for both user needs and technical requirements.* Collaboration: Work with other teams, including software, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to define requirements and integrate solutions.* Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the system’s design , root cause analysis, prognosis and product functionality.Candidate Requirements* Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field, such as computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.* Proficiency in programming languages like C and C++, python, etc.* Familiarity with communication protocols and hardware interfaces .* Knowledge of PCB design tools and electronic design automation software .* Experience with debugging tools and techniques for embedded systems.* Strong problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills
